The Bible, God’s Word
We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired Word of God and our trustworthy guide for faith and life. It is the standard by which everything else is measured (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
What we believe
CBA Orlando is a Brazilian Seventh-day Adventist church and community center. The summary below is an overview of the historic Christian faith we share, drawn from the Seventh-day Adventist Fundamental Beliefs. A pastor would be glad to walk through any of it with you in more depth.
We are Christians who believe God is loving, that the Bible is His Word, and that Jesus came to save us by grace. We keep the seventh-day Sabbath, look forward to the return of Jesus, and live in the hope of eternal life. This is a summary, not the full statement — the points below are explained in everyday language.
These are the central convictions that shape our worship and our community. Scripture references are noted by name so you can read them for yourself.
We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired Word of God and our trustworthy guide for faith and life. It is the standard by which everything else is measured (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe in one God who is eternal and loving, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is what Christians call the Trinity (Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4).
We are saved not by our own goodness but by God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ — His perfect life, His death for us, and His resurrection (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 3:16).
We keep the seventh day, Saturday, as a weekly day of rest and worship — a gift from God since creation and a sign of His care for us (Genesis 2:2–3; Exodus 20:8–11).
Baptism by immersion is a public response to the gospel — a sign of dying to the old life and rising to new life in Jesus. It is a meaningful step, never a requirement for receiving help or being welcomed (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4).
We look forward with hope to the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ, who promised to come again and make all things new (John 14:1–3; Acts 1:11).
Through Jesus, death is not the end. We hold the promise of resurrection and eternal life with God in a renewed creation, free from suffering and pain (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 21:3–4).
