Visiting

Planning your first visit to a Brazilian church in Orlando

A first visit to a new church can feel like a big step, especially in a new country. You are welcome here exactly as you are. This guide walks you through what to expect at CBA Orlando — a Brazilian Seventh-day Adventist community — so you can arrive relaxed, on time, and with a friendly face ready to greet you.

When we gather and how to find us

As a Seventh-day Adventist church, our main gathering is on Saturday, the Sabbath. A typical Sabbath has two parts: Sabbath School, where we study the Bible together in smaller groups, followed by the main worship service. If you can only come for one, the worship service is a gentle place to start.

  • Message us for the current time and place before you come — we share those details directly.
  • Plan to arrive about ten minutes early so you can park, find the entrance, and settle in.
  • If you get lost or are running late, do not worry — come anyway. Slipping in a little late is completely fine.

What to wear and what to bring

There is no dress code that will keep you from feeling at home. Most people dress neatly and comfortably — somewhere between casual and Sunday-best is perfectly normal. Wear what helps you feel at ease.

  • You do not need to bring anything. A Bible is welcome but not required — passages are usually shown on screen.
  • Bring water and anything your children might need; Florida is warm.
  • You will not be asked to give money or sign up for anything as a visitor.

What the service is like

Worship is in Portuguese, with warm singing, prayer, and a Bible message. You are free to simply listen and observe — no one expects you to know when to stand, sing, or respond. Follow along at your own comfort, and feel free to stay seated for anything that is new to you.

If Portuguese is not your first language, you are still very welcome. Many in our community speak some English or Spanish, and someone near you will gladly help you follow along.

Coming with children and family

Children are loved here, not just tolerated. If your little one makes noise, no one will mind — it is the normal sound of a family church. We can point you to where children gather and to a quieter spot if you need a moment with a baby.

  • Let a greeter know you have come with kids so they can show you around.
  • Snacks, restrooms, and a place to step out and back in are all easy to find — just ask.

Connecting after the service

After worship, there is usually time to talk, and people will be glad to meet you. You are free to stay for conversation or to head out quietly — both are completely fine. There is no pressure to join anything or commit to coming back.

If you would like, tell a greeter it was your first time. We would love to learn your name, answer any question, and help you find a next step only if and when you want one.
