Visiting
Common questions before visiting CBA Orlando
If you are thinking about visiting for the first time, you probably have a few practical questions — and that is completely normal. Here are honest answers to what guests most often ask, so you can arrive relaxed, knowing what to expect and that you are genuinely welcome just as you are.
When do you meet, and how long does it last?
We are a Brazilian Seventh-day Adventist community, so our main worship is on Saturday (Sabbath), not Sunday. A typical Sabbath has two parts: a Bible study time (Sabbath School) in the morning, followed by the worship service. You are welcome to come for both or just the worship service.
The worship service usually runs around an hour and a half. If you can only stay part of the time, that is perfectly fine — come and go as you need to.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code and no one is checking. Many people dress nicely out of love for the day, but you will see a range of styles. Wear something you feel comfortable and respectful in — that is enough. Please do not let clothing be a reason to stay home.
What language are the services in?
Our community is Brazilian, so most of what you will hear is in Portuguese. If you are more comfortable in English or Spanish, let someone at the welcome area know — we are glad to help you follow along and connect you with people who speak your language.
Can I bring my children? What happens with them?
Yes — families and children are a joy here, not an interruption. Children are welcome in the service, and there are age-appropriate Sabbath School classes for kids during the morning. If your child gets restless, no one will mind; we have all been there. Tell a greeter you are visiting with kids and they will point you to the right place.
What actually happens in the service?
You can expect singing, prayer, reading from the Bible, and a message (sermon). There may be moments to stand or sing along, but you are never required to do anything — you are free to simply sit, listen, and observe.
- You do not need to bring anything; a Bible is helpful but not required.
- There is no spotlight on guests — we will not single you out or ask you to speak.
- You do not need to be a member, an Adventist, or sure about what you believe to be here.
How do I find you, and what about parking?
The simplest thing is to arrive about ten minutes early so you can park, find the entrance, and settle in without rushing. Look for someone at the door — greeters are there specifically to help guests. For the current time and place, send us a quick message and we will share the details and walk you through it.
